At Wesley House Holidays, nothing about our story is ordinary — and that’s exactly how we like it.
We’re Sam & Martin, partners in life, work, and endless DIY adventures. We live here in what we truly believe is one of the most peaceful pockets of Cornwall… along with Billy, our cat-with-no-tail-who-arrived-with-a-tail (yes, we know — long story!).
Sam has spent most of her life in Cornwall, while Martin has spent over 15 years cooking around the UK after starting his career in luxury hotels across Europe. Together, we combine Cornish roots, creativity, and a shared love of building things we’ve never built before.
Martin is the master craftsman — from the carved wood details to the unique wash basin in Quirky Too (yes, he made that!).
Sam is the designer, materials-hunter, and general labourer — and the one who keeps the project moving when Martin is deep in woodworking magic.
Most days, you’ll find us covered in paint, grass cuttings, or cement — but always ready with a smile to welcome you.

Landscaped the entire property
Handcrafted unique features, including woodwork throughout the cottages
- Quirky Cottage and Quirky Too welcomed their very first guests - Our handmade dream was finally real - Received our first reviews — all amazing, which meant everything
- Created a small, peaceful campsite for quiet campers - Fell in love with the calm vibe guests brought to the land - Billy appointed himself Head of Guest Relations (unofficial, but effective)
- Continued improving the grounds, cottages, and facilities - Added new handcrafted features every year - Welcomed returning visitors who now feel more like friends - Focused on sharing our bubble of Cornish paradise
